Our Photographer

Amanda MacPhee

Hello! I am Amanda. The heart and soul behind Amanda MacPhee Studios. I believe that wedding photography is about more than just hiring someone to take pictures. Wedding photography is about using artistry and intention to capture the moments of your big day in a way that beautifully tells the story of your relationship. I make it my mission to achieve these three things in every photograph I take: Joy, Romance, & a little bit of Magic!

Our Organist 

Ruei-Hwa Shyu

Ruei-Hwa Shyu has served as organist since December 2018.  A native of Taiwan, she holds a BA degree from Tunghai University in Taichung, Taiwan; has studied at the Royal College of Music, London; and earned a Master of Music degree from Boston University.

​

Ruei-Hwa plays piano and organ and has a great passion for music. It is her great joy to provide quality music that excites the congregation in worship. 

In her spare time, she loves to play a game of tennis and line dancing.

Our Singer

Melissa Cregger

Some career highlights include an international debut in 2007 as Dinah in Trouble in Tahiti and Anita in West Side Story in Dubai, UAE in which her performances were hailed by Gulf News as "Brilliant!"; Chorus appearances with Washington National Opera, Washington Concert Opera and Lyric Opera of Baltimore; a certificate in Voice Over from Edge Studios in Kensington, Maryland; portraying the infamous Julia Child in Lee Hoiby's Bon Appétit with Opera Delaware; and finally getting her Valkyrie wings playing Waltraute in Götterdämmerung with Union Avenue Opera.

 

Excelling at oratorio she has won a number of accolades on the concert stage including First Prize in the Lyra New York International Vocal Competition (Oratorio Division) 2016, debuting at Carnegie Hall in the 2017 Lyndon Woodside Competition for the Oratorio Society of New York winning the Leopoldo Damrosch award, and most recently, Second Place in the Professional Oratorio Division on for the American Prize 2019.

 

Mrs. Cregger loves collaborating on weddings and has a wide range of repertoire to offer!


 

Some Specifics:  

  • A Marriage License is required and must be presented to the officiating pastor at the rehearsal. The license may be obtained from The Marriage License Division of the State of Maryland Circuit Court in Rockville: 240.777.9450.

  • Please apply for the license at least 4-6 weeks in advance.

  • Bulletins/programs are offered by the church for an extra $25 fee.

  • If you are a member of RUMC, the next step is to contact the pastor, the Rev. Martha Meredith at 301.762.2288 to set up pre-marital sessions and to plan your ceremony.

  • If you are a member of another church, you may bring your pastor to officiate at your ceremony.

  • All final fees are due 30 days prior to the wedding.
